Originally formed by Mike Armato and Prezell Davis, the two searched and found bassist and vocalist Larry Hill who joined the duo and Agnus Jackson was formed in 1999.

The band has been recognized by many different Medias, including having a song selected for use in a television commercial, and receiving airplay on local radio stations in the Rockford, Illinois area, where the band calls home.

In 2004 the band gained significant strides. With a huge fan base requesting them, Agnus Jackson shared the stage with numerous national acts: Shinedown, Alterbridge, Silvertide, Brett Michaels, (too many to list). They were nominated for their first Rockford Area Music Industry (R.A.M.I.) Award, and released their first CD “Mesmerized”. Agnus Jackson’s first CD delivers hard-hitting and charismatic vocals, red-hot and technical guitar playing, and powerful percussion. Listen and you WILL be mesmerized.

In 2006, Agnus Jackson won the R.A.M.I. award for Best Hard Rock Band.

Larry “Elwood” Hill, lead vocals/bass:
Larry joined Agnus Jackson in 1999. His potent and distinct vocal sound, together with power-from-the-low-end delivers a strong chord in the overall resonance of the band. Larry says that making original music and seeing people get up and dance are what makes this band worth being in. Larry’s charisma onstage and connection with the audience brings an immense level of excitement and energy to the evening. He has been making music since the age of 16.

Prezell “PD” Davis, lead guitar/vocals:
“PD” is a founding member of Agnus Jackson and has been a guitar virtuoso for 20+ years. Smokin hot riffs are delivered with precise accuracy and flair that cannot be truly appreciated without seeing him perform them live. His personality comes through in his playing, and his unique style formulates the Agnus Jackson sound. “PD” garners the attention of the crowd with his passionate and energized performance.

Tim Brockway, rhythm/lead guitar:
The latest addition, Tim became a member of the band as the new-bee in 2006. He comes from an extensive background as both a lead and rhythm guitar player, which gives intensity and melody to the red-hot fire licks of Agnus Jackson. Tim’s attitude, along with his extraordinary talent brings an even higher level of Tour-de-Force to Agnus Jackson’s music.

Mike “Animal” Armato, drums/vocals:
Mike is a founding member of Agnus Jackson (he founded the name) and has been playing the drums since he was 12 years old. His skin-pounding talent is astounding, his hard-driving rhythms and chest-beating backbeats make you want more! “Animal” involves the masses with his particularly extroverted personality and antics, both on and off the stage. Mike personifies what Agnus Jackson strives to accomplish … Unleashed Rock -n- Roll!
